Center 2: Primary Healthcare, Age Friendly Zone

The second camp at Thaingkhali consists of Primary Healthcare, Emergency services and an Age-Friendly Zone for older people, providing them with regular healthcare and adult education.

Our HMBD Camp 2 is located at a conflux of three camps, and there’s no other health center nearby.

Primary Healthcare:

Refugees waiting their turn to check up at HMBD Center 2

Our second camp at Thaingkhali provides regular outdoor and emergency medical services. Being the only center nearby (and at the meeting point of three camp regions), many refugees throng this center to get their check up done and get their free medicines on regular basis. This camp also gets patients of various age groups – children to young to old. Being beside the Age-Friendly zone, the center puts an emphasis on old-age related treatments.

Age Friendly Space

Age Friendly Zone – a shelter for older refugees

We have started our “Age Friendly Space” for refugees since February 18. The senior Rohingya citizens spend their times here and learn Quran, Hadith, Masala, Health and hygiene education etc. In our age friendly space we distribute Holy Quran, prayer mates, supporting sticks for walking.
There are interactive sessions for them too. Some of them share their folk tales. We also assigned a trained Hafez who teach Quran, Hadith and various Masalas to elderly people. If people do not engage in any kind of activity they tend to become obsolete. In our age friendly space we give them that opportunity to engage at various activities to keep themselves healthy in both mentally and physically.
